Prologue

I'm a strange entity that manifested as a human child in Ireland a short time before the 1980s began. It's gone on like that for a while. I've gotten used to it by now, and it's really a lot of fun being a people. I like people. And things, too.

Hobbies, Avocations, Diversions

I'm interested in the details of the universe, including humans. There are a few things I like, for instance... languages, philosophy, music, cooking, eating the cooking, physics, psychology, mathematics, history, culture, drinking, the experience of everyday life, did I say languages?, life, linguistics, people in general, neurology, bodily sensations (most of them), all kinds of literature, people in particular (that means you), logic, dharma, sex, love, rationality, machines, cakes.

Character and Moral Fibre

I've consistently scored as an INTP, which seems like as good a description as any. I've also begun to suspect that I'm chaotic neutral.

His Station in Life

I'm living in Poland for a few years (with occasional apparitions in Dublin). I work as a freelancer, which is wonderful; for one, it allows me to live anywhere.

In which he Reveals his Past

In a previous life I was almost a physicist, and then almost a mathematician, but I escaped academia before becoming intellectually stereotyped. I'm still interested in those subjects, but they have to share space in my mind with all the other awesome things.

Homespun Philosophy

Faced with the choice of on one hand liking stability and then suffering when the stability goes away, and on the other hand of liking change, I go for change.

The mode of perception of humans yields an essentially infinite variety of sensory impressions, and it would be a shame to not at least try to live forever, learn every language, and meet everyone.

Executive summary

Lover of literature, scholarship, history, hagiography. Cruncher of theorems, speaker in tongues. Apprehender of music, art, philosophy. Servant of the deathless gods.
